Historical letters and papers written to and from colonial governors of Mass., Conn., and R.I., 1643-1776, collected by Jonathan Trumbull, a later governor of Conn. The letters pertain to the colonial governments of the colonies and in America as a whole. One series of letters with Jeremiah Dummer relates to his work as a colonial agent in London. Correspondents include John Winthrop, John Winthrop, Jr., William Dummer, Gurdon Saltonstall, Joseph Talcott, and Jonathan Law. The collection also includes a Mr. Webb's (surveying) fieldbook for Lebanon, Ct., which also includes some births and deaths in Lebanon from 1774-76.
